On may 25, 2020, George Flyod was killed in the hands of police officers.  5-days later, on May 30, 2020, the first of many BLM marches started in Santa Cruz County.  The BLM movement in Santa Cruz was a historic event that laid the foundation for black leaders and activists to stand tall and elevate the voice of the black community in Santa Cruz.
